• Improving Pigment Dispersion and Viscosity Reduction

Our high-performance dispersing and wetting agents for automotive 2K top coat systems, such as KBS-F110A, KBS-F164, KBS-F040, and KBS-F200, provide stable pigment dispersion, viscosity reduction, and color development. KBS-F110A is an acid polyester compound with general-purpose dispersion, viscosity reduction, and excellent color development. KBS-F164 is a modified polyurethane compound suitable for organic and inorganic pigments, providing excellent dispersion stability and gloss. KBS-F040 is a modified polyester polymer, a general-purpose dispersant. KBS-F200 is a block copolymer providing stable pigment dispersion and color uniformity. Practical Formulation Considerations

• Loading levels. Dosage depends on the resin system, pigment/filler loading, film thickness, and target performance. Laboratory evaluation is recommended.
• Compatibility. Compatible with automotive refinish top coats, OEM top coats, automotive parts top coats, automotive interior top coats, high-gloss top coats, and matte top coats. KBS-F110A and KBS-F164 are suitable for general pigments. KBS-F200 is suitable for organic and inorganic pigments. KBS-C410 has minimal effect on viscosity, leveling, and gloss.
• Processing. Dispersants are typically added during the pigment dispersion/grinding stage. Anti-settling and thixotropic agents can be added during let-down or under controlled shear. Wetting and leveling agents, defoamers, and adhesion promoters are generally added in the let-down stage.
• Surface and leveling. KBS-L306 is suitable for recoating-friendly systems. KBS-L333 and KBS-L331 are suitable for general wetting and leveling. KBS-L3540 and KBS-L3580A are suitable for long-wave leveling. KBS-L3770 is suitable for long-wave leveling and dark foam elimination.
• Foam control. KBS-X052 and KBS-X141 combine compatibility and defoaming. KBS-X066N is suitable for strong defoaming and foam inhibition requirements.
• Adhesion. KBS-Z0100, KBS-Z0200, and KBS-Z0300 can be selected according to automotive substrate type.
