Kabasph^®blocked polyisocyanates are available in two primary categories: solvent-based products derived from TDI, HDI, and IPDI blocking, and water-based HDI-blocked products designed for environmentally friendly systems.

When the isocyanate functional groups (–NCO) are temporarily blocked, the product can be premixed with polyol resins to form a stable one-component (1K) coating without premature crosslinking. The curing reaction is triggered only upon heating to the deblocking temperature, typically ranging from 120°C to 200°C depending on the blocking agent used. This 1K baking paint technology has been widely adopted in coil coating for can and tin packaging, where high-speed processing and precise curing are essential.

Stored in tightly sealed original containers in a cool and well ventilated place and protected from moisture, heat, and foreign materials.

The shelf life is around 12 months when stored in a sealed package.
